Delivering to schools for children with
food insecurities. Volunteer to help organize foods: buying, delivering bags to schools, enlisting others to help. Sites include 3 Hernando schools.

Get involved helping with HMC projects at Baddour in Sentatobia. Interaction and time with residents are the greatest gifts we share – join the fun of showing nlove to these mentally-challenged adults.

Families who come together to fulfill God’s command to care for the animals.  Assist those in need with pet supplies,  vaccinations, and placement; support the local shelters.

Enjoy fun crafting sessions to prepare various items to offer at Hernando festivals to raise funds for our International Missions. All ages involved, a great Saturday family activity.

Support DC Jail chaplain, Jackie Willcutt;  provide supplies (Bibles, reading glasses, study books, ear plugs), volunteer with various prison ministries to meet with inmates

A community-wide agency made up of 18 local churches. Help solicit, collect, deliver cereal to the local food pantry; holiday outreach projects; back to school adopt a child projects.

Palmer Home is a safe place for vulnerable children to call home. We can help by sponsoring a child, adopting a house, plan cookouts, playdates, fishing, sports, casserole drives, and work project.

Assist Ann Lunceford in her non-profit ministry for women prisoners, while in prison and after release. Ann provides a home for ladies in need. She needs help with teaching life skills and leading Bible studies to her residents, transportation of her ladies, goods and services needed to run a group home.

Handle small home repairs as requested for those with limited resources

Join us in showing Jesus’ love to our new friends at Hill Manor Apartments (low income housing for handicapped and 65+) through activities such as bingo, Bible Study, support of all kinds.

A nonprofit organization comprised of volunteers from churches in Hernando which serves senior citizens to enrich their lives with meaning and purpose.  Help is needed driving seniors to appointments. Regular meetings for fellowship, programs, and education are held the 2nd Thursday of each month from 10:30-11:30 am in various churches.

HMC supports the teachers of incarcerated teens in the JDC (the old DC Jail). We shower those 9 teachers with lunches, happies, school supplies, cleaning supplies, whatever they need to make their job easier and feel appreciated.

Spreads God’s love in colorful quilts for people in need. Twins size quilts are given to children who come to the Methodist Children’s Home, crib size quilts are sent to NICU unit at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital to shield babies’ eyes from light and comfort the parents. Meets Thursdays at 9:00 am in the fellowship hall.

Join a team who coordinate and provide monthly birthday parties for residents at Wesley Meadows Retirement Community, as well as other activities that the seniors enjoy.

Join the various teams that work to build a home for a deserving individual. No special talents or skills required, just some energy and a desire to help – there is something for everyone to do.

Join the teams that deliver hot lunches to needy people in Hernando. MOW is a non-profit, food-based, community outreach organization.

Crochet or knit items to be given to those who are sick or have lost a loved one.  Meets 2nd/4th Tuesdays at 10:00 or do projects at home in your leisure. Willing to teach skills.

Find ways to let local teachers know they are supported: school prayer walks, goodie bags, set up and service caffeine carts for teachers (Keurig/Kcups), offer help in preparation for classroom projects (cutting out, assembling booklets, etc)

Individuals coming together to become an outdoor cooking team – grilling, fish fries – when needed for disasters, special events, and community outreach.
